Pocklington is on the A1079 between York and Hull. Records indicate that John Wesley visited Pocklington 18 times, the first being in 1752. By 1764 a meeting house existed, probably on the site of our recently vacated Chapel, where in 1813 a new chapel was built. This building dates from 1864 and was completely refurbished in 2000. A burial ground once attached to the church was used until the 1930's. Unfortunately, due to structural problems the main worship area at the chapel has had to close and we currently hold services at the Pocklington Scouts’ building. There are still rooms available on the chapel site. Wesley House adjoins the main church building and offers 3 meeting rooms for up to 20, and one small office for up to 3 people. Facilities include wheelchair access and a wheelchair accessible garden and car park.
Some rooms are available for hire (scroll through photos at the top of this church page to see images of rooms for hire). For more details contact [email protected]
